Section 1

The microphone and your recordings

VoxCodex needs microphone access to record your voice. This is the core function of the app.

• Your recordings stay on your device. Takes, comps, mixes and stems are written to local storage on your iPhone. VoxCodex does not use iCloud itself; your songs are included in your normal device backup (iCloud Backup or a computer backup), which you control in iOS Settings.
• We never receive your audio. Recordings are not uploaded to us, and we have no server that could receive them. Audio leaves your device only when you choose to share or export it, through iOS's own share sheet.
• Imported beats are read from files you select and are handled the same way as your recordings.
• Timing calibration plays a short tone and records it to measure your device's audio latency. The measurement is a single timing value kept on your device; the calibration recording is not stored or sent anywhere.

Section 2

What else we collect

• Purchases / subscription status. We use RevenueCat and Apple's In-App Purchase to manage subscriptions, via an anonymous app-user identifier and purchase records (which product, trial/renewal status). We do not receive your name, email, or payment card — Apple processes payment.
• Your lyrics, sessions and settings. Stored locally on your device only. They are not synced to iCloud or to us.
• Diagnostic logs. The app writes standard system logs that stay on your device. There is no crash reporter and no analytics; nothing is sent to us.

Section 3

What we do NOT do

• No advertising. VoxCodex shows no ads.
• No third-party tracking or data brokers. We do not track you across apps or sell data, and do not build a profile linked to your identity.
• No speech analysis. Your recordings are not transcribed, analysed, or used to train anything.

Section 4

Third parties

• Apple — app distribution, payments (see Apple's privacy policy).
• RevenueCat — subscription management (anonymous ID; see RevenueCat's privacy policy).

Section 5

Your choices

• Cancel or manage subscriptions in App Store settings.
• Revoke microphone access at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone. VoxCodex cannot record without it.
• Deleting the app removes local data, including your recordings. Export anything you want to keep first.

Section 6

Children

VoxCodex is rated 4+ and is not directed at collecting personal data from children. We do not knowingly collect personal information.
