The questions we get most. If yours isn't here, the form at the bottom of the page reaches us directly.

What is free, and what does Pro add?

The whole app is free: recording to the silent click, lyrics on screen, up to eight vocal tracks, unlimited takes and comping, the Arrange timeline, the full mixer chain (CLEAN, EQ, compressor, tune, reverb) and timing calibration. Nothing inside the app is held back.

Pro unlocks export — the full mix as a WAV, the individual track WAVs (raw or processed), and the aligned stem bundle. Pro Monthly and Pro Annual start with a 14-day free trial; Lifetime is a one-time purchase. If you don't continue after the trial, you stay on Free with the whole app.

My takes are recording late or out of time. What do I do?

Run Timing calibration for the route you are recording with. Every device is late by a different amount, and each route — wired headphones, AirPods, a USB interface, the iPhone's own mic — is different again, so VoxCodex measures each one separately. It takes about thirty seconds: the app plays a short tone, records it, and from then on every take you record through that route is shifted onto the grid by exactly that amount.

If you change headphones or plug in an interface, calibrate that route too. The measurement is stored on your device only.

Why can't I hear the click in my recording or export?

That is by design. The click is never inside any file — not a take, not a mix, not a stem. With Silent Click the beat comes through the phone's haptics, so the mic can't hear it either. Your producer gets clean audio that lines up on their grid.

The app can't record, or the microphone seems off.

VoxCodex needs microphone access to record. Check iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone and make sure VoxCodex is switched on. If you are using a USB interface or headphones with a mic, confirm they are connected before you open the record screen, and re-run Timing calibration for that route.

How do I send my vocals to a producer?

Export (Pro) puts the files on the iOS share sheet, so you can AirDrop, message, email or save them to Files. Every file starts at 00:00:00 and runs the full song length, with no fader or pan printed, so the producer can drag them all into a session at once and they line up. You can send the takes raw for their chain, or with yours printed — your choice on each export.

Where are my songs stored? Are they backed up?

Everything you record stays on your iPhone. VoxCodex does not upload audio anywhere and does not use iCloud itself. Your songs live in the app's own documents, so they are included in your normal device backup — iCloud Backup or a computer backup, whichever you have set up in iOS.

Deleting the app deletes its local data, including your recordings. Export anything you want to keep first.

Importing a beat and setting the tempo

Import your beat from Files. If the file name contains the tempo (for example "Puede Volar 92bpm.wav"), VoxCodex sets the session BPM from it; otherwise set the BPM yourself before the first take, so the click and the section markers line up with the beat.

I bought Pro but the app still says Free.

Open Settings → PRO in the app and tap Restore Purchases, signed in to the same Apple ID that made the purchase. Purchases are tied to your Apple ID, not to the device, so a new phone picks them up the same way. If it still doesn't unlock, email us with the receipt from Apple and we will sort it out.

Cancelling a subscription or asking for a refund

Subscriptions are managed by Apple: iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions → VoxCodex. Cancelling there stops the next renewal; you keep Pro until the end of the current period. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.

Refunds are also handled by Apple, at reportaproblem.apple.com. Prices, trial terms and renewal rules are in the Terms of Use.
