These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the ChartCodex app and website (the "Service"), provided by Nuve Studios LLC ("we," "us"). By using the Service you agree to these Terms. ChartCodex is distributed through the Apple App Store and is also subject to Apple's Standard End User License Agreement.
Section 1
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use ChartCodex for your own music-making. You may not copy, reverse-engineer, resell, or redistribute the app or its bundled content except as allowed by law.
Section 2
ChartCodex has no in-app purchases or subscriptions. Any purchase of the app itself is processed by Apple under Apple's terms; refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. Prices may vary by region and may change with notice.
Section 3
ChartCodex sends standard MIDI messages (Program Change, Bank Select, Control Change, MIDI Clock, Start/Stop) to devices you connect and configure. You are responsible for what those messages do on your equipment. Check program numbers, channels, CC numbers and clock settings against your device's manual, and rehearse with the app armed before relying on it at a performance. Keep the app in SAFE mode when you do not want anything sent. Behaviour on any particular controller, modeler or pedalboard depends on that device and its settings.
Section 4
Don't use the Service unlawfully, attempt to disrupt or breach it, or infringe others' rights. You are responsible for having the rights to any song you chart or share.
Section 5
Your charts, setlists and notes are yours. We claim no ownership of them and no licence to use them. Because they are stored on your device rather than on our servers, keeping backups and exporting work you want to preserve is your responsibility — deleting the app deletes its local data.
Section 6
ChartCodex, its name, logo and software are owned by Nuve Studios LLC or its licensors and protected by law.
Section 7
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Bar timings are calculated from the BPM and meter you enter; MIDI behaviour depends on the receiving device. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Nuve Studios LLC is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including a wrong patch or tempo at a performance, or loss of charts.
Section 8
We may update these Terms; material changes will be posted here with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use means acceptance.
Section 9
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
