Common questions
The questions we expect most. If yours isn't here, the form at the bottom of the page reaches us directly. For pedal questions, tell us which pedal or keyboard you use.
USB MIDI pedals work when plugged in. For Bluetooth MIDI pedals, pair them in Settings › MIDI › Bluetooth MIDI inside Chords Live; iOS has no system screen for this.
Then use MIDI MAP to choose what each switch does. A switch can play the next chord, change section, and tap, hold or latch.
Check, in order: the pedal shows as connected in Settings › MIDI; it has been mapped in MIDI MAP; and it sends MIDI on its own (most pedals have a MIDI mode or setting). If it is a Bluetooth pedal, pair it again from inside Chords Live.
Yes. Turn on KEYBOARD in the mixer and pick your keyboard as the input. It plays the four layers like a sound module, with velocity, sustain pedal, mod wheel, pitch bend and aftertouch. A pedal on another input still runs the song.
Put any AUv3 instrument you have installed on a mixer channel. Its settings are saved with the song. AUv3 plug-ins come from their own developers; contact them for problems inside the plug-in.
Yes. Chords Live can send the chords over MIDI to other apps and to external gear, and leave the sounds to them.
Share a song or a whole set list by AirDrop, Messages or Files; the other player opens the file in Chords Live. Songs written in ChordCodex can be imported too.
On your device only. There is no account and no server. Deleting the app deletes its songs, so share your set lists to Files first if you want a copy.
